Survey Base, a fast-growing 3D Surveying & BIM practice recently completed the Laser Scan of the Old Spitalfields Market in London’s East End. The survey, completed in 3 days, was commissioned by structural engineers Abstruct Consultants, and focused on capturing the geometry of the steel and glass roof structure. The resulting point cloud was modelled in Revit to BIM LOD2 (Structural) with the surrounding facades to LOD3 Architectural. The project is an excellent example of our Scan to Revit service and demonstrates the capability of our 3D surveying services.

Spitalfields Market began trading in the 17th century and has been in continuous use for over 350 years. The many market buildings are an Architectural feast presenting the many adaptations and period features across the years.  The unique history of the site made this project even more special and was received to the full satisfaction of the Client; “We have been delighted with Survey Base and have used their services on several similar projects this year. Their professional and friendly spirit extends from brief through to delivery. We find them responsive to change and their considerable 3D expertise has tangibly benefitted the design phase. “
